PlusValue will again be playing a key role in the 4th phase of the ICT-Enabled Social Innovation initiative, which was launched on June 30th.
This launch bring together the work of a 3 years’ research project on “ICT-enabled Social Innovation to support the Implementation of the Social Investment Package (SIP)” (IESI) by the Joint Research Centre’s Institute for Prospective Technological Studies (JRC-IPTS, now JRC-DGI), in partnership with the EC’s Directorate General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion.
The overarching aim of the IESI study is to assess the contribution of ICT-enabled social innovation to the delivery of the SIP, based on the analysis of a broad collection of well documented initiatives, which could be adjusted, scaled and replicated across Europe. In addition, project IESI set out to build a tool-box – including the IESI database and a methodological framework to assess the social and economic impact of ICT enabled social innovation initiatives – to help interested parties in designing, implementing and evaluating ICT-enabled social innovation initiatives across Europe. The work carried-out under project IESI since 2014 appears particularly relevant today not only in light of the Social Investment Package, but also in light of the development of an EU Pillar of Social Rights.
